Governor's Council on Innovation and Technology PURPOSE: The Council, a catalyst for developing new economic development strategies, focuses primarily on improving Arizona's knowledge-based economy. As the Governor's principal advisory group for innovation and technology, the council is charged with: - Developing the framework and vision to enable Arizona to become a global leader in innovation and technology research, development and product creation
- Strengthening the innovation and technology infrastructure of Arizona
- Evaluating capital formation in Arizona and developing recommendations that support Arizona's global competitiveness in the 21st century
- Promoting technology transfer and inspiring partnerships between Arizona's business community and university researchers
- Creating and retaining an active marketplace of quality jobs in Arizona
MEMBERS: Members of the Governor’s Council on Innovation and Technology are appointed by the Governor and serve 1-year terms.
