ABOUT THE ARIZONA COMMERCE AUTHORITY

The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) is the leading economic development organization with a streamlined mission to grow and strengthen Arizona’s economy. The ACA uses a three-pronged approach to advance the overall economy: recruit, grow, create – recruit out-of-state companies to expand their operations in Arizona; work with existing companies to grow their business in Arizona and beyond; and partner with entrepreneurs and companies large and small to create new jobs and businesses in targeted industries.

The ACA is overseen by a public-private sector board comprised of Arizona leaders in business and policy. The board is overseen by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and co-chaired by Jerry Colangelo, partner of JDM Partners and chairman of USA Basketball. Joining them on the board is a group of prestigious private-sector business leaders, elected officials and university presidents.

The ACA’s executive management team drives the organization’s day-to-day operations, ensuring it maintains focus on the recruitment of quality companies and jobs to the state of Arizona. This team brings together the best and brightest in economic development, management and communications.

It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the Arizona Commerce Authority. The ACA is an aggressive, finely tuned economic development organization committed to attracting and retaining the best of the best in business and to creating quality jobs for Arizona and its citizens. And we’ve taken an innovative, public-private approach to ensure its success. Our leadership team is comprised of the most notable public and private-sector individuals who know Arizona, who know what it takes to succeed in this state and who know what you need to thrive and to grow with us. In early 2011, I proudly signed into law the highly progressive Arizona Competitiveness Package, making Arizona more competitive on the global business landscape. We look forward to working on your behalf to best leverage these incentives, ensuring the state of Arizona is the perfect place for your business needs.

- Governor Jan Brewer

Startups (and all companies for that matter) need sales in order to grow and survive...and every sale starts as a lead. But not all leads are created equal. Inbound leads cost less and convert better, in essence turning strangers into customers and promoters. But it isn't as easy as a contact form on a webpage . This TiE Institute is going to provide a primer on inbound marketing, what it is, and best practices around how to make it work for your company.

There will be plenty of time for networking with the Investor panelists during the breaks and networking party!

The first 25 entrepreneur attendees to sign up will also get the option to pitch their business idea in 60 seconds or less in front of the investor panel and receive feedback as a group from the panel.

Along with the pitch competition, there is an educational and networking component to the event. All attendees will be gaining an understanding of what investors are looking for in the Austin market and what our entrepreneurs are building.
