On May 31, Arizona Manufacturing Extension Partnership and Sustainment, held an event to launch the Arizona Manufacturing Network. The Network is both cutting-edge technology — an AI-powered digital network to facilitate local sourcing — and a new consortium of Arizona manufacturers, industry groups and associations, and state support organizations coming together to advance the Arizona manufacturing sector.

Arizona MEP and Sustainment have partnered to lead the effort to connect Arizona manufacturers on Sustainment's AI-powered platform. At the launch event more than 100 attendees learned how Sustainment could be used to find new suppliers and business opportunities, track details on companies, projects, or conversations, and directly communicate with key decision-makers.

Designed for Manufacturers, By Manufacturers

Founded by a team of veterans with roots in U.S. manufacturing, defense logistics and supply chain operations, the Sustainment platform is purpose-built for the manufacturing industry. “Arizona MEP looks forward to working with the team at Sustainment to get Arizona manufacturers on the platform to find new opportunities to grow — either by making connections to needed suppliers, or to find new opportunities for the services they provide,” said Dave Garafano, SVP of Manufacturing Programs and Executive Director of Arizona MEP.

Arizona Supplier Scouting Initiative

The Arizona Manufacturing Network will also support the national Supplier Scouting program, led by NIST, to strengthen U.S. companies by providing opportunities for U.S. manufacturers to form new supplier relationships. Arizona MEP is leading this effort in Arizona, providing participating manufacturers with a curated list of new business opportunities from U.S. companies. Supplier Scouting opportunities will soon integrate into the Sustainment platform.

Sign Up for Supplier Scouting

Arizona manufacturing companies can join Supplier Scouting here. New opportunities are sent via email no more than once a week. Manufacturers that see opportunities of interest may contact their Arizona MEP Advisor or email [email protected]. An Arizona MEP Advisor will fill out the NIST/MEP Supplier Scouting submission form and send to NIST and the requesting MEP center for consideration.

A special thank you goes out to Arizona Manufacturers Council who sponsored and supported the Arizona Manufacturing Network launch event.
