ReConnect Broadband Pilot Program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Broadband ReConnect Program provides grants to facilitate broadband deployment in rural areas. Funds may be used to cover the cost of the construction, improvement or acquisition of facilities and equipment needed to provide fixed broadband service.

 

Applicant Eligibility

  • Corporations
  • Limited Liability Companies or Limited Liability Partnerships
  • Cooperatives or mutual associations
  • States, local governments, or any agency, subdivision, instrumentality, or political subdivision thereof
  • A territory or possession of the United States
  • An Indian tribe

Serve Area Eligibility

  • 90% of the service area must lack sufficient access to broadband
  • Must be capable of providing broadband serve to every premise in the proposed service area
  • Must not be a rural area located in a city, town or incorporated area that has a population of greater than 20,000 inhabitants; or
  • Must not be an urbanized area contiguous and adjacent to a city or town that has a population of greater than 50,000 inhabitants
