Lean Green Belt Certification Delivers ROI

Lean Green Belt Certification Delivers Measurable ROI for Arizona Manufacturers

Arizona MEP’s Lean Green Belt Certification returns this March with a refreshed, highly interactive format designed to deliver real results for Arizona manufacturers. For companies looking to reduce waste, improve processes and develop internal problem-solvers, the five-day course, spanning over three months, continues to prove its value.

The numbers speak for themselves. Lean Green Belt participants generate an average of $35,000 in documented savings per student from a $2,500 investment. Even more impressive, Arizona MEP has never had a student complete the course without identifying measurable savings through their company-sponsored project.

Interactive, Peer-to-Peer Learning and On-site Coaching

Building on the success of seven completed cohorts and nearly 150 graduates, Arizona MEP has enhanced the program with interactive simulations, more time for peer-to-peer learning and expanded time between sessions to allow participants to apply concepts directly to real company challenges. The course combines 32 hours of in-class instruction with hands-on project coaching

and concludes with a panel review of each participant’s improvement project. Unlike online-only programs, Arizona MEP provides onsite coaching support to assist students.

Lean Green Belt covers a multitude of lean methodologies and tools including:

  • 5S
  • Plant Layout
  • Lean Deployment
  • Training Within Industry
  • Mistake Proofing
  • Kaizen
  • Value Stream Mapping
  • TPM
  • Cellular Flow
  • Pull Systems
  • Lean Performance Measures
  • Leadership Roles
  • Strategic Planning
  • Building a Lean Culture

Graduates also gain access to a private LinkedIn collaboration group and future alumni engagement opportunities, reinforcing a growing network of Lean practitioners across Arizona

Invest in Your Internal Lean Champions

Sustaining lean requires more than good intentions—it requires trained leaders who can drive change. Whether you send a production employee, supervisor, engineer, operations manager or emerging leader, the Lean Green Belt Certification equips employees to uncover waste, improve efficiency and deliver measurable cost savings. And the impact extends beyond manufacturing operations. Companies consistently report stronger problem-solving skills, improved accountability and a more structured approach to tackling challenges across departments when employees have been trained in lean methodologies.

Real Stories, Real Results, Real Savings

At Amphenol Aerospace’s Mesa facility, Assembly Operations Manager Steven Johnson used his Lean Green Belt project to reduce scrap at a marking station that was impacting the company’s bottom line. By redesigning the process and adding standardized work instructions, he documented $60,000 in savings in just 60 days. “If we can save $60,000 at a small site like ours, there are millions in potential savings across the company,” Johnson said. At AvaDent, an innovative start-up in the field of digitally designed and manufactured dental prosthetics, lean training was critical in transforming the research and development mindset to manufacturing efficiency. “The Lean Green Belt course provided our team with practical tools to

identify waste, improve processes, and approach problems more systematically,” said Marcus Peck, Production Manager at AvaDent. “Overall, the course has supported stronger problem-solving and continuous improvement within our organization.”
