ARIZONA DIVERSIFICATION INITIATIVE (ADI)

 The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Defense, Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA), is offering assistance to small- and medium-sized manufacturing and high-tech companies in Arizona that are currently affected by federal budget cuts and defense downsizing.

As part of this pilot diversification program, ACA will be offering a range of services and resources to Arizona Aerospace & Defense industry businesses through technical assistance/capacity building, competitive business intelligence and new business opportunity assessment.

 Participants in the Arizona Diversification Initiative will benefit from:

  • one-on-one advisory services with business development experts
  • new business opportunity research and strategy development
  • business development workshops
  • export education seminars/workshops
  • marketing assistance
  • event participation
  • and more

 Commitment: Program participants will commit up to one year of collaboration with a lead consultant and mentoring team and attend program workshops and events.

 Reporting: Program participants will be required to submit quarterly surveys and a follow-up report six months after the services are complete. The follow-up report will consist of all successes attributed to the service including, but not limited to: quantitative sales data, future sales potential, agent agreements, distribution agreements, joint venture projects, etc.

 Eligibility: Eligible companies must have less than 500 employees, rely on Department of Defense funding and operate in the following industries: Aviation & Aerospace, Homeland Security & Defense, Cybersecurity, Energy/Clean Technology, Information Technology, Life Science, and/or Healthcare.

 Application: ADI is a pilot program and participation is limited and competitively awarded based on the applicant company’s needs and match with program objectives.

Interested companies may apply August 22, 2014

 

All applications will be reviewed and companies will be notified of the acceptance decision.
