NexGen Cryogenic Solutions, Inc., and Flowserve Corporation Break Ground On New Cryogenic Engineering Test Center At Kingman’s Griffith Logistics Hub

The facility will be operational in 2023, supporting 100 new jobs

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (October 19, 2022) — NexGen Cryogenic Solutions, Inc., and Flowserve Corporation today broke ground on a New Cryogenic Engineering Test Center (CETC) at Kingman’s Griffith Logistics Hub. The new facility, operated by NexGen Cryogenic Solutions, Inc., is located near Golden Valley, Mohave County. On land bounded to the east by Interstate 40 and by the 653 MWe Griffith Energy Plant to the west, the CETC is due for completion in the second quarter of 2023.

Under an exclusive licensing agreement, Flowserve, a leading provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, will help sell NexGen products and services to the international Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industry for the production and transportation of LNG.

NexGen Cryogenic Solutions, Inc., or NexGen Cryo, is a company whose eight owners and managers are veterans of the former JC Carter companies and proudly proclaim their connection with the Carter corporate family tree. The company’s fourth‐generation submerged motor pumps, turbines, and packaged fluid systems will be shipped globally in containers, taking advantage of the facility’s proximity to Interstate Highway 40, the Kingman Freight airport, and BNSF’s southern trans‐continental rail link with every US North American Container Port to help ensure the timely delivery of its products.

Proximity to Phoenix Sky Harbor and Las Vegas International Airport will also provide the pathway for the company’s sales, service engineers, and executives to more easily connect with our customers and drive increased customer satisfaction.

When asked about the future of LNG in the future, Dennis Chalmers, NexGen Cryo Chief Executive Officer, observed that “natural gas will deliver the fast response energy when renewables are offline due to the absence of sun or wind or lack of offline storage capacity while minimizing CO2 production compared with other backup sources, such as wood, coal or heavy fossil fuels. LNG is the path forward that permits large quantities of thermal energy to be safely transported to remote and often economically deprived areas, which are ‘energy disadvantaged.’”

“Our products are essential in the efficient handling of LNG to get it where it needs to go. In return, our business will bring jobs to Mohave County and a fair return to our stakeholders,” Chalmers added. “We are proud to partner with Flowserve and together support the Mohave County community. We are optimistic about the future of our industry and are committed to the success of our venture and to that of our customers and suppliers. We ask for your support as we break ground on this journey and join the Mohave County community.”

“We are excited to celebrate the groundbreaking of NexGen Cryogenic and Flowserve’s innovative Cryogenic Engineering Test Center,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “The new facility highlights Mohave County’s attractiveness as a logistics hub, transporting products that support the Liquefied Natural Gas industry while creating skilled jobs. We look forward to supporting NextGen Cryogenic Solutions and Flowserve as they establish this new facility.”
