Blue Origin Celebrates Grand Opening Of New Office In Phoenix

The new office will support hundreds of new jobs

PHOENIX, AZ (April 26, 2023) – Blue Origin, a private space company, today celebrated the grand opening of its new office in Phoenix, Arizona. The new 43,288-square-foot office will contribute to avionics, systems engineering, and supply chain management across Blue Origin’s programs. Blue Origin has already hired more than 100 people for its Phoenix office and expects to hire hundreds more.

Blue Origin leadership celebrated the grand opening alongside Arizona Commerce Authority President and CEO Sandra Watson, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, community leaders and Blue Origin employees.

“Blue Origin is thrilled to invest in the Valley and open our site in Phoenix, which offers a vast amount of aerospace engineering and manufacturing talent and excellent universities and trade schools statewide,” said Michael Edmonds, Senior Vice President of Strategy, Marketing, and Sales, Blue Origin. “This partnership will accelerate our mission to reduce the cost of access to space resources for the benefit of Earth.”

The new office is hiring positions to support operations from program management and supply chain to avionics, systems engineering, and analysis. These positions include engineering functions, mission design, integration, and software across launch vehicle and space system programs.

“We are excited to welcome global aerospace innovator Blue Origin to Arizona,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “Blue Origin’s new office will support the development of next generation spacecraft while expanding our vibrant aerospace industry and creating skilled jobs for our growing workforce.”

Arizona’s strong aerospace presence and workforce made Phoenix an ideal location for Blue Origin’s new office. The state’s strong business environment that encourages investment and growth also contributed to the company’s decision to open an office in Phoenix.

“Phoenix is known as a major development hub of the most cutting-edge aerospace technologies, and I am excited that Blue Origin has decided to be a part of it,” said Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego. “Blue Origin’s new office will create great engineering jobs for Phoenicians while developing the space technology of the future.”

Arizona’s aerospace sector is booming with recent announcements including Virgin Galactic’s spaceship manufacturing facility and Boeing’s advanced composite fabrication center expansion in Mesa, and Northrop Grumman’s satellite manufacturing facility expansion in Gilbert.
