Community Health Development Partners Announces New Health Center In Lake Havasu City

Representing a $20 million investment, the facility will create over 100 jobs

LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ (February 1, 2024) – Community Health Development Partners, which creates an ecosystem of healthcare resources and solutions that address challenges in rural and underserved communities, today announced plans to open a new ambulatory surgical center in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The Lake Havasu Community Health Center (Lake Havasu CHC), will also serve surrounding communities and is expected to be operational by Fall 2024, creating over 100 new jobs.

Representing a $20 million investment, the 17,063-square-foot facility will provide affordable surgical care and medical imaging services to the Arizona community. The Lake Havasu CHC will feature a surgery center with four operating rooms, two procedure rooms, a catheterization lab and 14 pre- and post-recovery beds. It also will transform 27,717-square- feet of adjacent space into a medical office building that features exam and procedure rooms, and community space.

“We’re thrilled to establish this new health option for the people of Lake Havasu City,” said Jarret Portz, CEO, Community Health Development Partners. “We know what a difference healthcare can make in people’s lives, and the importance of receiving care close to home. We’re grateful to the city of Lake Havasu and the Arizona Commerce Authority for their support in this project and can’t wait to begin serving the community.”

Along with specialty surgery offerings, Lake Havasu CHC will provide access to free health and wellness programming and referral services in conjunction with Community Health Development Foundation, CHDP’s nonprofit partner. Offerings will include health screenings, wellness classes, health education, and meeting space for an advisory board that is comprised of local patients.

“We’re grateful to work with Community Health Development Partners to bring the company’s first health center in Arizona to Lake Havasu City, where it will have a tremendous impact,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “The new health center will provide residents of Lake Havasu City and surrounding communities greater access to quality medical options, without having to travel for it, while creating economic opportunity and driving further economic growth in the region.”

"Lake Havasu City is excited to welcome Community Health Development Partners to our community,” said Lake Havasu City Mayor Cal Sheehy. “We are an underserved area and providing our citizens with medical options is important. We value the investment Community Health Development Partners is making in our community and we are grateful that they chose to invest in Lake Havasu City."

CHDP’s flagship surgical center, Elko Community Health Center in Elko, Nevada, opened its doors in March of 2023, with another center in Pahrump, Nevada, scheduled to open in 2024. These facilities offer unique health and wellness opportunities, allowing residents of rural communities to receive surgical and specialty care close to home. Lake Havasu CHC will be CHDP’s first surgical center established in Arizona, providing specialty and surgical services that respond to the community’s most pressing healthcare needs.
