Arizona Commerce Authority and Partners Sign Declaration of Collaboration To Establish Taiwan AI Smart Health Showcase Center
Declaration of Collaboration will support Taiwan-based health care companies’ expansion into the U.S. with Arizona as a hub
PHOENIX, AZ (October 10, 2025) — To advance health care and biomedical opportunities between Arizona and Taiwan, the Arizona Commerce Authority, Arizona State University (ASU), the City of Phoenix, and Taiwan Digital Health Industry Development Association signed a Declaration of Collaboration focused on establishing and promoting the Taiwan AI Smart Health Showcase Center based in Arizona during a signing ceremony held on October 9 at Venture Cafe in Phoenix, Arizona.
In addition, attendees celebrated the opening of the Taiwan AI Smart Health Showroom at the Phoenix Bioscience Core, which featured 15 innovative Taiwan-based health care companies that were part of a visiting delegation that attended SEMICON West. The Center is located in the 850 PBC building on the Phoenix Bioscience Core in the heart of Downtown Phoenix, a central location to connect with and see demonstrations of the companies’ technologies to facilitate opportunities for collaborations.
The Declaration of Collaboration aims to support Taiwanese companies to establish and expand their presence in the U.S. and global markets with Arizona as a hub, bringing together government, industry, and academia to create a dynamic, two-way innovation ecosystem.
Representatives from each signing party included Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority; Dr. Sally Morton, Executive Vice President and Professor, ASU Knowledge Enterprise; Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, and Jean Yang, President of Huijia Health on behalf of the Taiwan Digital Health Industry Development Association.
Declaration of Collaboration goals include:
- Showcase Center Development: Plan, establish, and operate the Showcase Center to enable Taiwanese biomedical and medical device companies to land and grow in Arizona.
- R&D and Clinical Collaboration: Facilitate joint research and clinical trials with Arizona academic institutions and medical organizations.
- Market Expansion: Assist companies in developing sales channels, strategic partnerships, and investment opportunities across the United States and international markets.
- Policy and Regulatory Support: Provide guidance on relevant government policies and regulatory requirements to help companies enter and thrive in the U.S. market.
- Talent and Exchange: Promote industry–academic exchange and workforce development to build a long-term cooperative network.
