25 Days To SEMICON West In Arizona
Arizona Prepares For Global Spotlight As SEMICON West Approaches
PHOENIX, AZ (September 12, 2025) – With 25 days until SEMICON West kicks off in Phoenix, Arizona’s semiconductor industry and historic ecosystem growth are gearing up to take the global stage.
SEMICON West, North America’s premier microelectronics exhibition and conference, will be held in Arizona on October 7-9, 2025 for the first time, following 50 consecutive years in San Francisco. Arizona will host SEMICON West again in 2027 and 2029, with all three appearances at the Phoenix Convention Center.
Supported by the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), and Visit Phoenix, this year’s conference is anticipated to be the most widely attended SEMICON West conference to date, attracting more than 35,000 attendees, with over 700 companies participating. It will feature CEO keynotes, industry panels, and sessions highlighting advancement in semiconductor innovation, AI, supply chain, workforce, economic trends and more.
Since 2020, Arizona has attracted more than 60 expansions in the semiconductor industry, representing roughly 25,000 projected new jobs and more than $205 billion in investment — more than any other state. These expansions span leading edge manufacturing, R&D, equipment, materials suppliers, advanced packaging, workforce, and more, positioning Arizona as the hub of the semiconductor value chain.
Industry leaders to expand in Arizona in recent years include Intel, TSMC, Amkor, Applied Materials, ASM, NXP, EMD Electronics, Benchmark Electronics, Sunlit Chemical, NRS Logistics, Pure Wafer, Edwards, Busch Vacuum, Pentagon Technologies, Fujifilm, and many more.
“Arizona’s leadership in semiconductor investment makes it the ideal setting to bring together the industry’s top innovators and decision-makers,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “We deeply appreciate SEMI’s partnership and are excited to collaborate with our local and global partners to deliver an unforgettable SEMICON West experience here in Arizona.”
“Through strategic collaboration, Greater Phoenix has built up a globally competitive semiconductor ecosystem that has earned the honors of hosting this pivotal event,” said GPEC’s Interim CEO Thomas Maynard. “SEMICON West attendees can look forward to experiencing the market’s supportive business environment that fosters and furthers innovation, combined with the unrivaled lifestyle offered throughout the market.”
“We look forward to welcoming attendees from around the world to Phoenix for SEMICON West,” said Ron Price, President and CEO of Visit Phoenix. “Greater Phoenix has become a hub for technology and innovation, driven by the growth of the semiconductor industry and events like this. With new direct flights connecting Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to Asia, our region is emerging as a true global gateway, making it easier than ever to host international gatherings of this scale.”
“The City of Phoenix is proud to host this premier global conference to highlight our role as the nation’s fastest-growing semiconductor hub and showcase how we are driving the future of technology and economic growth,” said Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego. “From TSMC’s historic U.S. campus to a wide network of suppliers, Phoenix has become the cornerstone of America’s semiconductor supply chain. With thousands of high-wage jobs and a strong pipeline of workforce training programs, we are building an ecosystem where innovation thrives.”
Earlier this week, an Arizona delegation of more than 50 business, academia and community leaders led by the Arizona Commerce Authority traveled to Taiwan, where the delegation toured a TSMC training site, finalized new university partnerships, met with select businesses, and took part in SEMICON Taiwan. Afterwards, members of the group moved on to Japan for additional business meetings and to launch Arizona’s new Trade and Investment Office in Japan.
