READ MORE »CHANDLER, AZ (August 6, 2025) – On August 6, Applied Materials, Inc. announced plans to invest more than $200 million to establish a new advanced manufacturing facility in Chandler, Arizona that will produce semiconductor equipment components and parts. The investment builds on the more than $400 million Applied has invested in its U.S. equipment manufacturing infrastructure over the past five years. The Chandler facility could support the creation of potentially 200 additional manufacturing, R&D and services jobs in the semiconductor field over a five-year period.

Wei announced a historic expansion of TSMC’s advanced semiconductor operations in Arizona. TSMC will invest at least an additional $100 billion to build three additional semiconductor fabs in Arizona as well as an advanced packaging facility and R&D Center. READ MORE »TEMPE, AZ (January 6, 2025) – The Arizona Commerce Authority announced today that the U.S. Commerce Department and Natcast, the operator of the National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC), have selected Arizona as the site of the co-located NSTC Prototyping and NAPMP Advanced Packaging Piloting Facility, the third of three CHIPS for America research and development (R&D) flagship facilities. Ltd., Taiwan’s premier semiconductor chemical supplier, is expanding its international footprint with the grand opening of its first manufacturing facility outside of Asia – Sunlit Arizona, LLC. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, the plant will provide critical materials to support the U.S. semiconductor industry. Representing a $100-million investment, the 900,000-square-foot facility will optimize the production of high-purity hydrofluoric acid and other essential chemicals vital for semiconductor fabrication. The plant’s first phase is expected to create more than 50 local jobs by early 2025, with plans to scale up to 100 employees.
READ MORE »MESA, AZ (August, 20, 2024) – KoMiCo, a global leader in precision cleaning and advanced coatings in the semiconductor industry, today signed a purchase agreement to develop a state-of-the-art facility for advanced semiconductor equipment parts cleaning, coating, and repair in Mesa, Arizona. The facility is expected to be operational by 2026, creating over 200 new jobs. Representing an over $50 million capital investment, the Mesa facility will mark KoMiCo’s third location in the U.S. The 12.5 acre site and 125,000-square-foot building will be KoMiCo’s largest site in the U.S. KoMiCo, a pioneer of precision cleaning and specialty coating specializing in the semiconductor industry, was founded in South Korea in 1996 and launched its U.S. operations in 2007.
READ MORE »TEMPE, AZ (July 26, 2024) – Amkor Technology, Inc., a leading provider of semiconductor packaging and test services, announced today it has signed a non-binding preliminary memorandum of terms with the U.S. Department of Commerce to receive up to $400 million in proposed funding as part of the CHIPS and Science Act. Amkor announced in November 2023 its plans to build its first domestic OSAT (outsourced semiconductor assembly and test) facility in Peoria, Arizona. Amkor plans to invest approximately $2 billion and employ approximately 2,000 people at the new facility. Upon completion, the Peoria facility will be the largest outsourced advanced packaging and test facility in the United States. Amkor has secured approximately 55 acres to build a state-of-the-art manufacturing campus with over 500,000-square-feet of clean room space. The first phase of the manufacturing facility is expected to be ready for production within three years.
READ MORE »PHOENIX, AZ (July 15, 2024) – Today, Intel and Governor Hobbs announced the company is launching its first U.S. registered apprenticeship program for manufacturing facility technicians in collaboration with the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), SEMI Foundation, Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, Maricopa Community Colleges, and the Phoenix Business and Workforce Development Board. Intel plans to train dozens of facility technician apprentices over the next five years. Selected apprentices will be full-time Intel employees on day one and will earn a certificate and college credit upon successful completion of the one-year program. Apprenticeships offer a practical and effective way to train individuals for these roles. Apprentices gain valuable skills, experience and industry-specific knowledge, contributing to a more skilled and competitive workforce.
