Arizona Commerce Authority Announces Center for Entrepreneurship and Leadership Development

 

PHOENIX, AZ (December 11, 2015)  The Arizona Commerce Authority has expanded its programming to support and develop small businesses with the launch of the new Center for Entrepreneurship & Leadership Development, which will help prepare the CEOs of high-growth potential Arizona companies with revenues of over $1 million for success.

 

“Small businesses are the backbone of a healthy economy,” said Sandra Watson, President & CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “The ACA recognizes the importance of supporting Arizona’s small business owners and entrepreneurs. We are pleased to offer this new resource, designed to help them develop strong skills that will translate to success in the marketplace.”

 

The Center for Entrepreneurship & Leadership Development offers two programs specifically designed for CEOs wishing to sharpen their skills and grow their businesses:

 

The Seminar Series – Presented in Partnership with the Arizona Technology Council

The Seminar Series features two-hour sessions held three times per year in which the participants will learn from prominent business leaders.

The first session will be held on January 19, 2016 in Phoenix. Southwest Airlines Chief Marketing Officer Kevin Krone will speak on "Innovation: Building a Better Business through Marketing the Southwest Way."  An interactive discussion of key takeaways and business strategies will follow the presentation.

 

Space is limited to 100 participants and an application is required. Cost to participate is $50 per person, per event. Arizona Technology Council members receive discounted pricing of $40 per person, per event.

 

The CEO Corner Office

The CEO Corner Office features a curriculum of facilitated case studies that will enhance critical thinking skills through identifying multiple solutions to real life operational issues and creating high value ideas that can be immediately implemented.

Participants will complete 12 educational hours over the course of three months, with sessions held on Tuesday mornings from January 12 – March 29, 2016 in Phoenix.

 

Space is limited to 14 participants and an application is required. Cost for the program is $550 per person. Arizona Technology Council members receive discounted pricing of $500 per person.

 

Evaluation Criteria

Applications for participation in each program are required. Evaluation criteria will include the company profile and performance, as well as the applicant's qualifications, including demonstrated professional experience.

 

Deadlines: Applications must be submitted by December 31, 2015 at 5:00 pm MST.
