Arizona Virtual Accelerator

Arizona Virtual Accelerator

The Arizona Commerce Authority’s Virtual Accelerator is a 12-week venture development program tailored for the needs of early-stage companies. With a streamlined online framework, the Virtual Accelerator’s courses and mentorship opportunities empower founders to grow their businesses, pursue venture financing and craft competitive accelerator applications.

In addition to applied learning, founders will be paired with an expert mentor who will provide support and guidance throughout the program. The mentors who coach in the Virtual Accelerator are subject matter experts and community partners with deep experience building, scaling, and exiting successful startups. These coaches offer personal, contextualized feedback, helping founders apply the theory of the Accelerator's curriculum to the specifics of their business.

As part of Arizona’s ecosystem tools to accelerate innovation in the state, the Virtual Accelerator utilizes the ACA Innovation Network (ACA IN), an asynchronous resource library and networking hub.

Through 12 weeks, early-stage entrepreneurs learn the skills necessary for commercializing a successful startup. Weekly learning modules cover topics ranging from understanding your value proposition and defining your problem statement all the way through effective go to market strategies and preparing for fundraising.

Each week founders attend a live, virtual cohort meeting with ecosystem mentors and founders, as well as ACA innovation experts, to immerse in the week’s workshop. During these sessions, founders also have the opportunity to source feedback from innovation experts and mentors. Founders may also access the ACA IN Resource Library to dive deeper into topics where more information may be useful.

Furthermore, during weekly networking “watercooler” sessions, founders have the opportunity to network and ask each other questions or receive feedback.

Applied Learning

Following each week's live instruction, founders continue their learning through a series of value-added deliverables. These deliverables allow founders to apply each workshop’s learnings to refine and further their businesses. Founders will refine and further their business through design thinking tools, planning documents and investor communication documents. At the end of the accelerator, founders will have a KPI Dashboard, experiment backlog, financial model, pitch deck, and company one-pager.

The ACA's Virtual Accelerator is currently closed. Applications for the next cohort are to be determined.
