The Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions (DIFI) is responsible for administering state laws for regulating the appraisal industry which includes, Registered Trainee Appraisers, Licensed Real Estate Appraisers, Certified Residential Real Estate Appraisers, Certified General Real Estate Appraisers, Designated Supervisory Appraisers, Property Tax Agents, and Appraisal Management Companies (AMCs) as well as the approval of appraisal education providers. Real estate brokers and salespersons, cemetery brokers and salespersons, campground membership brokers and salespersons, and property management are licensed through the Arizona Department of Real Estate Licensing Division. Business brokers, or anyone involved in buying and selling businesses, other than the business owner, may also require a license through this department.
