BRIAN SHERMAN

Chief Innovation Office

Brian Sherman serves as the Chief Innovation Officer of the Arizona Commerce Authority. Brian approaches economic development as a social entrepreneur, startup evangelist and bureaucracy hacker. He believes human-inspired, market-leveraged, data-driven entrepreneurship can create a better world. His work is focused on public sector strategy, technology-based economic development, entrepreneurship, early-stage capital formation and technology commercialization, as well as innovation in public policy, strategy and finance.

 

JEFFREY WISHART, PH.D.

SFAz Fellow/ Vice President of Innovation, Mobility

Jeffrey Wishart is a Science Foundation Arizona Fellow and VP of Innovation – Mobility at the Arizona Commerce Authority, leading the Advanced Mobility Pillar. Dr. Wishart is also Adjunct Professor in Automotive Systems of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University, where he teaches courses on zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) and connected and automated vehicles (CAVs). His focus is on the vast potential improvement in diverse mobility areas such as CASE (connectivity, automation, sharing, and electrification). Dr. Wishart is the lead author of Fundamentals of Connected and Automated Vehicles and is also the Chair of the Verification and Validation (V&V) Task Force under the On-Road Automated Driving (ORAD) SAE committee that is establishing standards for automated vehicles.
