ARIZONA FILM READY CREW INITIATIVE

In July 2022, Arizona Film & Digital Media launched the Arizona FILM READY Crew Initiative (AZFRCI) to train and grow Arizona's film and digital industry workforce.
The program will initially focus on training Production Assistants (PA), and in subsequent years will include other important crew positions.

The goal of the AZFRC'sI Production Assistant Certification Program is to graduate 400 participants a year to address the workforce demand of Arizona's growing film and digital media industry.

The training program is currently supported by five community colleges with active film and digital media programs (Scottsdale, Coconino, Pima, Yavapai, Glendale) and the Arizona Production Association (APA), an industry trade group. Each campus will host two training events a year with 40 participants each - 25 selected from the school and 15 from the local community.

The hands-on training program teaches on-set protocols and knowledge, workplace safety, and how to perform common PA tasks including the handling of expensive production equipment often required in this position.

The Arizona FILM READY Crew Production Assistant Certification program uses the curriculum of the Film and Television Production Assistant Intensive created and instructed by Arizona-based veteran line producer, Rochelle Savory.
