Arizona Unmanned Aerial Systems Virtual Workshop

IAM partnered with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the Arizona Department of Transportation and the Arizona Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) State and Local Technical Working Group to host a two-day interactive workshop on UAS. Subject matter experts discussed starting and growing a UAS program, and implementing UAS technology in support of key transportation applications, alongside technology and UAS use case examples.

 

The ACA joined state partners including the Arizona Department of Transportation, Arizona Department of Public Safety and Arizona State Lands Department to host an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Workshop with the U.S. Department of Transportation.  

  • The two-day event featured multi-sector presentations by Embry Riddle University, the City of Tucson, Maricopa Department of Transportation and Sundt Corporation to highlight Arizona UAS innovations resulting in significant project savings and productivity increases. 
  • The workshop shared UAS transportation best practices from across the U.S. and included presentations on traffic incident, emergency management and construction-use cases by representatives from Ohio, Utah, California, Texas and Alaska.
  • Over 120 participants attended the virtual event.
